Why Sola Fide?
In 2025, we started a 5-year plan for conferences going through what is called the Five Solas: (1) Sola Scriptura, (2) Sola Fide, (3) Sola Gratia, (4) Solus Christus, and (5) Soli Deo Gloria.
The Reformation removed obstructions the papal church had placed between Christ and believers, opening direct access to Him as the sole mediator and making His gospel accessible without priestly permission. Protestants, concerned with pastoral care, centered religious life around Christ as salvation’s object, leading to critiques of monasticism, the Roman priesthood, and human works-based salvation.

Introducing our speaker — Jonathan Anderson
Jonathan has served on staff at Countryside Bible Church since February 2003. He initially served in youth ministry as an intern, then as the assistant youth director, and then as the youth pastor. In 2007, Jonathan transitioned to the role of family pastor, leading the children’s ministry and providing shepherding and training for families. He currently serves as the senior associate pastor, providing oversight and encouragement to the staff and ministries of Countryside. He also serves on the Missions Leadership Team.
Prior to coming to Countryside, he and his wife, Christy, lived in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where Jonathan completed his B.S. in middle school math and science education from Southeast Missouri State University. In 2012, Jonathan graduated with his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Jonathan and Christy have five daughters: Anna, Abby, Aubrey, Ashlyn, and Allie.
